Archie Goodwin crowned joint A-League Golden Boot winner in Breakout Season

Adelaide United forward Archie Goodwin has been crowned joint winner of the 2024/25 Isuzu UTE A-League Golden Boot, capping off a sensational first season in red.

The 20-year-old striker found the back of the net 13 times across 26 matches, sharing the honour with Sydney FC’s Adrian Segecic. Goodwin’s remarkable campaign included 19 starts, a goal every 121 minutes, and an impressive 33% conversion rate.

Having joined the Reds from Newcastle Jets ahead of the season, Goodwin quickly established himself as one of the most clinical finishers in the league. He netted his debut goal in Round 5 against Brisbane Roar and never looked back, showcasing a natural goal-scoring instinct and composure beyond his years.

Speaking after receiving the award, Goodwin said:

“I’m absolutely loving my football at Adelaide United. The environment at the Club – the players, the staff, the fans – has helped me feel at home and given me the confidence to perform. I’ve really enjoyed every moment this season and I’m looking forward to scoring more goals for this great club.”

Goodwin becomes the latest Red to etch his name into Club history, following in the footsteps of past goal-scoring greats, and his achievement is made all the more special given his age and the fact it was his first season with Adelaide United.

Adelaide United congratulates Archie on this incredible milestone and looks forward to watching him continue to grow and thrive in the seasons to come.
