Adelaide United legends were defeated by the ADF Open Men’s Football 4-5 on penalties.
With United’s Isuzu UTE A-League team playing Melbourne Victory at Coopers Stadium on Friday night, the match was followed by a curtain raiser between a Reds Legends team and the ADF Open Men’s Football Team.
A match with only 30-minute halves, ADF Football opened the scoring after 21 minutes and went into the break with the 1-0 lead. After the break, Elias Demourtzidis levelled for the Reds where the game ended 1-1.
No extra time was played and the game went straight to penalties, where the ADF Football Men’s Open came out on top, wining 5-4.
The Reds Legends squad included: Cassio, Michael Brooks, Adriano Pellegrino, David Scarsella, Lucas Pantelis, Kelsey Zafiridis, Racheal Quigley, Jonas Salley, Jason Spagnuolo, Marcelo Carrusca, Adam Van Dommele, Laura Johns, Stella Rigon, Matt Kemp, Michael Marrone, Evan Kostopoulos, Ricardo da Silva, Fred Agius, Elias Demourtzidis, Richie Alagich, Chad Bugeja, Marcos Flores and Iain Fyfe.
