Ben Halloran recently signed a new two-year extension with Adelaide United, keeping him at the Club until the end of the Hyundai A-League 2021/22 season.

The 27-year-old is arguably in career-best form as he enters his prime years and has also enjoyed his most prolific scoring season with 10 goals in all competitions.

So to celebrate the news of securing his signature, we look back at some of his best moments.

Elimination Final extra-time winner

Halloran wrote his name all over the Reds’ Elimination Final clash against Melbourne City in last season’s Final Series. With time running out in extra time after a scoreless 118 minutes, the winger expertly picked his spot with a composed finish from Baba Diawara’s assist to send Coopers Stadium into raptures.

Back-to-back FFA Cup triumphs

The six-time capped Socceroo has played an integral role in each of the last two FFA Cup victories. In 2018 he deftly played the ball back for Craig Goodwin’s mesmerising right-footed strike to down Sydney FC and the following campaign he broke City hearts again, clinically netting the crucial second following impressive work by both Al Hassan Toure and Riley McGree in the build-up. The 27-year-old added to his goal with an assist, serving a low cross on a silver platter for the easiest of tap-ins for Nikola Mileusnić to make it 3-0.

His best three goals

Halloran has scored some crackers of late, especially this season. His curling strike from the corner of the 18-yard box into the far post against Central Coast Mariners is certainly one to savour. Likewise, his touch and finish from distance which arrowed into the bottom corner – and all performed at pace mind you – against Brisbane Roar last month was another standout. The awareness and guile he displayed to dispatch a brilliant finish beyond Western Sydney Wanderers goalkeeper, Daniel Lopar, was also a thing of beauty, turning in one motion before bending the ball into the back of the net.
