Craig Goodwin will remain Adelaide United’s Captain moving forward after Head Coach Carl Veart made the announcement at Friday’s press conference.
The news comes as no real surprise given the 30-year-old assumed the armband from Stefan Mauk earlier this year.
Veart said keeping someone of Goodwin’s calibre is indicative of the strong ethos across the Club.
“I think it all goes back to the culture that we’re setting here at the Club, and in the changeroom, and in the office and the way we’re linking all that together,” he said.
“Craig is a big part of that. He was the Captain of the Club last year and he’ll maintain that Captaincy again going forward.
“So we’re looking forward for Craig to improve and make that World Cup squad and have success with the Socceroos as well.”
The winger has scored a Reds-high 44 career goals over three spells with the South Australian outfit.
