Condon explains stunning free-kick in 4-2 win

Emily Condon discussed her incredible free-kick to put the exclamation point on a formidable ending in Adelaide United’s 4-2 victory over Perth Glory on New Year’s Day.

Condon bent her set-piece around the wall and between the goalkeeper and the inside of the far post.

For the 23-year-old it appears practice makes perfect.

“I’m absolutely thrilled,” Condon told Paramount+ after the clash.

“Honestly, it’s something I practice at the end of every training session, working on my free-kicks.

“And to just pull it off in a game like that is what I’ve been training for so it was amazing.”

Condon also notched an assist for Chelsie Dawber’s opener, in addition to her brilliant distribution and poise in possession to deliver another instrumental performance.

The Reds have won both its home matches but have encountered two losses on the road this season.

Condon was optimistic they can put its inconsistent start behind them now as they aim to climb the ladder and get into the top four.

“It’s been a little bit up and down to the start of our season, with you know winning and then losing,” the attacking midfielder said.

“I think we just need to keep the consistency now moving forward, we just have to keep focusing on our game and keep on winning.”
