Jordan Elsey says Adelaide United will need to be wary of Olympic FC’s attacking quality ahead of their FFA Cup Round of 16 meeting on Wednesday night.

Olympic have scored a league-high 83 goals in the Queensland National Premier League and sit fourth on the ladder.

And while Elsey highlighted their strengths, he expects the Reds to equally impose themselves on the game and curtail their movement in the final third.

“I think they’re obviously a good team,” he told reporters at Adelaide Airport.

“They’ve made it this far and we’ve seen the video and they’re a very attacking team.

“Obviously we look forward to stopping that and we want to score goals and create chances so it should be an exciting game.”

Olympic thrashed Bayswater City 5-2 in the last 32 with striker Chris Lucas bagging a hat-trick.

“They’re very fast up front and they create a lot of chances,” he said.

“So it’s just about us being aware of that and playing our own game.”

The Reds also won 5-2 in their Round of 32 clash after beating Melbourne Knights.

However, Adelaide did surrender two goals, both which came via set pieces.

The 25-year-old centre-back was confident they could be more resolute when defending dead balls.

“I think we conceded from two set pieces so we worked on that in training,” he said.

“I think we’re playing well. We had a dominant display last round so it should be a good game.”
