Adelaide United’s Youth Team play away this week against opponents Melbourne City Youth this Monday at Melbourne City Youth Academy in Round 7 of the Foxtel National Youth League 2017/18 season.

In the previous game of the Foxtel Y-League Round 6 against Perth Glory Youth, the young Reds fought hard in what was a riveting match.

Young Reds boss, Paul Pezos was happy with the result after selecting what was a far younger team than usual

“An exciting game, good for the spectators but not for us coaches.” Pezos said,

“We fielded a lot younger team on that day but I’m still happy with performance”

Up this week are top of the table Melbourne City Youth, in a game that sees our Young Reds hoping to secure a playoff spot,

“Three points today is vital for us, especially if we want to play in the finals,”

“We’re always confident, going into every game we’re confident and this game is no different”

“A tough game last time out against them and I think we can improve again this week and come away with a win”

Pezos was happy to recall the reverse fixture against City, in which our boys drew 1-1 at home

“Could have been five all that day, they’re a very good team with a lot of good individual players, some of them playing in the A-League at the moment and we matched them, especially in the second half”

“We worked hard and we tried to get a result, like I said I was happy with a one all draw and the game could have gone either way”

Adelaide United Youth will face Melbourne City Youth in Round 7 of the Foxtel Y-League 2017/18 season on Monday, 8 January at Melbourne City Youth Academy in Melbourne. Kick-off is at 3:30 PM ACDT.
