On the eve of another vital home clash, Adelaide United-s number one is confident the Reds are making the right noises as they look to climb up the table.

Ninth on goal difference heading into the clash against last season-s grand finalists, the Reds have the chance to put the brakes on the Mariners- recent charge and start gaining some of their own momentum.

Galekovic, who continues to be a standout between the posts in his fifth season at the Reds, is of the opinion that United is one positive result from launching a raid on the top four.

“All of our home games are must wins for us. We want to get three points every time we play at home and we-re only two points off third so we-re still up there, we just need to keep getting those points and win this week,” the dual Hyundai A-League Goalkeeper of the Year said.

“As players we look on our performances and our results and they haven-t been fantastic, we know that, but we-re getting there and if we win this week then everyone is going to start talking about us because we-re going to be up there again.”

Following a considerably dour scoreless draw at home against Newcastle last Friday night, the encounter could not come quick enough for Galekovic. Just two attempts on target and less possession than the Jets during the 90 minutes does not make for pretty reading, but the beauty is that the Reds have an opportunity to erase that from their memories with a good showing against the Mariners.

“We want to get better. The first half last week wasn-t up to scratch, obviously the second half was a little bit better but we need to get 90 minutes of that football and then we-ll start getting better results,” Galekovic said.

“We-re eight weeks in and it-s already nearly a third of the way through the season and if we don-t get better soon we are going to struggle, but we believe we can get better.”

See if the Reds can take it up to the Mariners by getting down to Hindmarsh Stadium tomorrow night. Gates open at 6pm with kick-off at 7.30pm. Tickets are available through Ticketek.
