Adelaide United Captain, Craig Goodwin, was left frustrated following his side’s 1-0 loss to Newcastle Jets on Tuesday evening.

Speaking to Paramount+ post-game, Goodwin explained his immediate thoughts in dissecting the result: “It’s one where we’re going to have to watch the game back.

“In the end, they scored a scrappy goal and it’s probably really one of the only good chances they had in the game.

“We weren’t effective enough with our possession and we didn’t put our chances away.

“It’s really frustrating because it’s a game we should win at home.

“It’s attention to details, small details and it starts from the back.

“It’s less touches, not four or five touches to play passes, it’s two touches to play pass.

“Recognising when to step in.

“We’ll go back, we’ll assess.

“At the end of the day, we’ve created some good chances and we should put more away but it’s too many simple mistakes.”
