Adelaide United Captain, Craig Goodwin, has praised his teammates’ display against Perth Glory in Round 10 of the Isuzu UTE A-League.
Goals from Lachlan Barr and Ben Halloran either side of the halftime break respectively saw United overcome Glory, ending a three-game winless streak for Carl Veart’s men.
The positive performance pleased Goodwin, who spoke to Paramount+’s Max Burford post-game, saying: “The most important thing was our intent to play, the effort to play, and the positivity.
“I think from the first three results, since we’ve come back from the break, we could have easily fallen into a negative mindset.
“But the mindset and the group have been positive, always thinking: ‘Can we play forward?’ and our intention is to play good football and we did that tonight.
“(We were) more intense, but had more cohesion as well and that’s from front to back.

“We had more movement from the boys up front, but better intent from the boys at the back to try and play forward rather than take the easy route as well.
“We need to be able to string a good run of games together and find that form that we found before the the international break.”
