Adelaide United FC can confirm former Newcastle Jets forward Ryan Griffiths will, pending a successful medical, join the Reds for the remainder of the Hyundai A-League 2013/14 Season.

Considering the current unavailability of key attackers through injury and international duty, the Reds approached Griffiths, who has returned to Australia after finishing a year long stint with Chinese club Beijing Boxy.

The 32 year old scored 19 goals across two seasons with the Jets and Adelaide United General Manager – Football Operations, Michael Petrillo is optimistic and buoyed by what Griffiths can bring to the Reds on the field.

“Ryan is an experienced player who Josep feels will suit our game and believes will be a very valuable acquisition adding depth and flexibility to the squad,” Petrillo said.

Griffiths is scheduled to arrive in Adelaide tonight and barring any problems with his medical and the processing of his international transfer clearance will be eligible to line up for the Reds in Saturday-s game against league leaders Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium.
