Adelaide United fans will have the opportunity to see the AFC Asian Cup trophy at Saturday night’s game.
The Socceroos were crowned champions of Asia after beating Korea Republic in a thrilling AFC Asian Cup final at Sydney’s Stadium Australia on Saturday 31 Janaury 2015.
The AFC Asian Cup Trophy will be presented on the pitch by our very own Socceroo Eugene Galekovic before Adelaide United’s match against Western Sydney Wanderers. It will also be on display in the Manton Street precinct until 6:40pm (gates open at 5:30pm).
All Adelaide United fans are encouraged to get to the game early for their chance to have a photo with the trophy.
“We’re honoured to welcome the AFC Asian Cup trophy to Coopers Stadium following the Socceroos’ stunning success and we’d like to congratulate the Coaching staff and players on this outstanding achievement,” Adelaide United CEO Micahel Petrillo said.
“We encourage all Adelaide United fans to arrive early to tomorrow night’s game in time to see the trophy, have a photo with it and witness our very own Socceroo Eugene Galekovic present it the fans.”
