Adelaide United forward, Henrique, has praised the loyalty shown by the Reds faithful following the Club’s successful 2016/17 authentic home jersey launch on Saturday afternoon.
Adelaide United successfully launched its new 2016/17 authentic jersey last week, celebrating it by hosting a launch event at the AUFC Store on Saturday afternoon for the Club’s supporters.
And in true Adelaide style, United’s faithful following turned out in great numbers to welcome the Club’s new home jersey, making it the largest shirt launch in Adelaide United’s history.
As well many avid Reds fans celebrating the event, United players James Holland, Sergi Guardiola, Tarek Elrich, Sergio Cirio, Jesse Makarounas, Marc Marino, and Henrique also attended, mingling with fans, signing autographs, and posing for photos.
Reds’ forward, Henrique, was full or praise for the way United’s supporters came out and supported the event, saying he and his teammates cannot wait to see them all again in Round 2 at Coopers Stadium against Western Sydney Wanderers.
“Today (Saturday) has been a very good day and it’s great to see so many people coming to support the Club and buying the new shirts,” Henrique said.
“It’s fantastic to see how well the design of the playing strips have been received by our fans because us players really love it.
“It will be really good to see all the fans in Round 2 when we play Western Sydney at home with so many people wearing our shirts.”
Henrique joined Guillermo Amor’s men at the end of August following a short stint in Malaysia and after an eight-season stay with Brisbane Roar.
The Brazilian-born Australian said he is enjoying his time in South Australia so far and is looking forward to the start of the Hyundai A-League in just under two-weeks time.
“It’s been about a month now that I’ve been with Adelaide and I’m loving being here,” he said. “Adelaide is a great city and it has a great atmosphere.
“So far, pre-season has been going really well and we have been training hard, week in, week out.
“We’re definitely heading in the right direction and we’re all excited for Round 1 against Newcastle Jets.”
