Football Australia’s (FA) Match Review Panel (MRP) has reached a verdict regarding the red card issued to Adelaide United forward, Hiroshi Ibusuki, in Round 3 of the Isuzu UTE A-League 2022/23 season.
The MRP have determined the direct red card to Ibusuki was not warranted and has rescinded the on-field decision by referee, Daniel Elder.
As a result, Ibusuki will be available for the Reds’ upcoming match against Perth Glory at Coopers Stadium on Sunday, 30 October 2022.
Speaking on the verdict, Adelaide United Chief Executive Officer, Nathan Kosmina, said: “We are delighted with the decision by FA’s Match Review Panel.
“The evidence we presented in Hiroshi’s defence was clear and strongly represented our position that the decision to issue the red card was incorrect.
“On behalf of Hiroshi and the Club, I want to thank FA and the MRP for the opportunity to review the matter.
“We believe this outcome is not only correct but serves football’s best interests.”
