Adelaide United winger, Nestory Irankunda, was left largely disappointed following the Reds 1-1 draw with Brisbane Roar on Friday evening, however was happy to be back with his teammates on gameday.
After being left out of United’s squad which demolished Melbourne Victory in Round 6 by Head Coach, Carl Veart, for disciplinary reasons, the 16-year-old was handed his largest, professional spell on the park after being introduced at half-time.
The exciting teenager was a headache for the Roar defence and gave his thoughts to Paramnount+ following the match.
Irankunda said:
“I’m pretty disappointed with the result because we could have put the game to bed.
“I had couple of chances that I should have finished off.
“I felt good and it was our first game back from the World Cup break.
“I was out (for disciplinary) reasons, but I’ve worked my way back.
“I’ve been training my hardest to get myself back into the squad and now I’m just happy that I’ve earned my spot.”
