Adelaide United can announce winger, Nestor Irankunda, has signed a scholarship contract with the Club.
The 15-year-old has impressed in the Club’s youth set-up this season both with the Young Reds and Reserves.
Previously playing his junior football at Adelaide Croatia Raiders, Irankunda scored three goals in 15 appearances for United Youth in the local National Premier League, while for the Reserves he netted a combined seven goals in 13 games across both the league and cup.
Speaking on putting pen-to-paper on his scholarship deal, Irankunda said: “I’m really happy to be signing with Adelaide United.
“I am very grateful for this opportunity and will continue training hard every day.”
Adelaide United Head Coach, Carl Veart, added: “Nestor is another bright prospect coming through our youth system at the moment.
“He has displayed his potential in the youth team under Airton (Andrioli) and has been progressing very well.
“Training in a professional environment will only help Nestor continue his development and we’re very happy to have added him to our squad.”
Irankunda joins Jonny Yull, Alexandar Popovic, Bernardo, Ethan Cox, Yaya Dukuly, and Mohamed Toure as the Club’s scholarship players.
