Adelaide United pair, Isaías and Ken Ilsø, revealed their excitement about the Hyundai A-League 2018/19 season being just a few weeks away from commencing.
Speaking at the Club’s Fan Day at Coopers Stadium on Saturday, both said they were looking forward to playing competitive matches on a weekly basis following a long and gruelling pre-season.
When addressing fans in a short Q&A session, Reds Captain, Isaías, began by saying he was keen for the league campaign to start.
However, the Spaniard was quick to point out that his side’s focus first and foremost was on FFA Cup 2018 Quarter Final opponents APIA Leichhardt in less than a fortnight.
“We’re looking forward to start the season,” Isaías said.
“Hopefully we’ll play a good game in the FFA Cup next week we will win and reach the semi-finals.”
Isaías also said the majority of the squad have an even greater understanding of Head Coach, Marco Kurz’s, playing style and expectations heading into the German’s second year in charge.
“We know the style that we play and we know the philosophy of the coach that he has,” he said.
“And I think with the new players that we’ve brought in this season we can have a very good season.”

Meanwhile, new Danish recruit, Ken Ilsø, said he is still working on reaching full fitness.
“So far I haven’t scored any goals but I’ve also haven’t played enough games,” Ilsø said.
“I’ve been struggling a little bit in the pre-season but hopefully I’ll be fully fit and fine and looking forward.”
Since arriving in Adelaide back in July, the 31-year-old attacker admitted he has enjoyed the Adelaide lifestyle, without exploring the city’s entirety.
“I haven’t really explored so much of the city yet,” he said.
“We’ve been training a lot but I like the area around the beach and the sunsets, the best sunsets in the world.”
Adelaide United face APIA Leichhardt in the Quarter Finals of the FFA Cup 2018 on Wednesday, 26 September at Leichhardt Oval. Kick-off is at 7.00 PM ACST.
