Isaías is hopeful Adelaide United can overcome their recent form slump when they host Western Sydney Wanderers at Coopers Stadium on Boxing Day.

The Reds come into the clash on the back of successive defeats to Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City, with the Reds Captain adamant of a positive reaction.

“We’ve had a couple of losses the last two games,” Isaías told reporters.

“But we’ve had a long week to prepare for the game against Wanderers and we know and believe in our quality.

“We’re ready to fight again and hopefully get the three points again.”

The Spaniard stressed the one major improvement his side need is to return Coopers Stadium into a fortress again, where opposing teams fear playing at the venue.

That will only be achieved if United can assert their dominance from the outset and play with intensity, according to Isaías.

“I think we need to be stronger at home obviously,” he said.

“We need to be the strong side and we need to be aggressive from the first minute because we play at home with the support of our fans and we’re much stronger.”

Three of United’s next four matches are at home and Isaías said taking maximum points around the busy festive period will be crucial to ensure they keep pace with the top four.

“Every game is important but when we play at home it’s even more important,” he stated.

“One of the most important things in the season is to get the three points at home.

“And we’re one hundred per cent sure that if we get three points (each week) at home we’ll be near the top at the end of the season.”

The mercury is expected to reach the mid-30s on Wednesday, but since the game kicks off in the evening, Isaías said that is a welcomed reprieve for players and fans to come and show their support.

“I know it’s going to be a hot day but it’s a late game, so it’s not going to be that bad,” he continued.

“For us it’s massive that all the supporters come to help us because with them we’re much stronger and we need them.”
