Former Melbourne Victory midfielder, James Jeggo has signed with the Adelaide United Football Club and becomes another addition to the Reds Player Roster for the upcoming 2014/15 Hyundai A-League season.

The highly talented Vienna born 22 year old, comes to the Reds having spent the last four seasons with Victory where he made 30 A-League appearances and scored 2 goals.

Signing a 2-year contract, the exciting young midfielder is very keen to make a new start to his career and is looking forward to joining his new team mates for pre-season.

“I am extremely lucky to be joining a club like Adelaide United,” said Jeggo.

“The football they play is at another level and I am excited to be a part of it. Now I get to work under Josep (Gombau) where I know he will help me improve as a player.

“Adelaide has a great history and is a very successful club. It-s also a great city and everytime I-ve played there I-ve enjoyed the atmosphere from the fans.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Melbourne Victory for what they-ve done for me and for providing me the opportunity to become a professional footballer.”

Adelaide United Coach Josep Gombau is sure that Jeggo is the type of player who will fit seamlessly into the system and has been tracking his progress from early in the season.

“James is the type of player that suits the style and football philosophy of this club,” Gombau said.

“He-s a player that can help out the team, and from the first time I saw him play, I liked him straight away.

“I like the way that he plays, because he-s a player that is always thinking in attack but also he-s strong in defending.

“For me, it-s important that he-s a young player, one that is hungry to play, who also has a strong future ahead of him.”

Jeggo will arrive in Adelaide for pre-season on 16 June.
