Adelaide United FC and Melbourne Victory will again contest the Kosmina/Muscat Cup tonight, which is decided after the teams’ three matches each season.

Adelaide United FC and Melbourne Victory will again contest the Kosmina/Muscat Cup tonight with the Victory having one hand on the trophy that the two clubs now play for during each Hyundai A-League season.

The Victory won the first meeting this season 2-1 at Etihad Stadium back in Week 3, meaning the Reds must take at least a point from Friday night’s blockbuster at Hindmarsh to ensure it comes down to their final fixture of the regular season in Adelaide on February 8.

As part of the Kosmina/Muscat Cup, at the conclusion of tonight’s game, the most valuable player will be awarded the Kosmina/Muscat Medal, which has become a tradition.

Aptly named after current United Coach John Kosmina and Victory Assistant Coach Kevin Muscat, who have been key figures in the history between the two clubs, the Kosmina/Muscat Cup further adds just another ingredient to the already huge rivalry, with the Reds the current holders after they recorded a win and two draws against the Victory last season.
