Fantasy football for the Liberty A-League Women has launched today, making the A-Leagues the only Australian sporting code with an active, league-run, standalone fantasy competition for women’s sport.
With the Liberty A-League Women season kicking off on November 19, fans can now pick from the stars of the Liberty A-League to assemble their dream team in an individual and group setting to win a share of the weekly prizes.
Allowing fans to compete against other managers in their league to score points based on real football in the Liberty A-League, players’ performances in the actual A-Leagues will be measured over a broad range of categories.
The Liberty A-League Tipping Competition, meanwhile, will test fans’ result-predicting abilities, earning points to secure a position on the global leaderboard that will determine the winner of prizes.
Ant Hearne, Chief Commercial Officer for APL said:
“Creating new ways for fans to engage with the game is at the core of our strategy, and fantasy and tipping is a perfect way to create conversation and increase connections with the game. In the year of the FIFA 2023 Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand, we want to create as many opportunities to get involved with the game, and this product is meeting the fans exactly where they are.
“We have seen incredible engagement with our men’s fantasy and tipping competitions and expect to see a great response from our Liberty A-League Women fans too.”
