Adelaide United’s Stefan Mauk has been nominated for the Professional Footballers Australia A-League Player of the Month for March.
The outstanding attacking talent across the competition has been highlighted as Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) A-League Player of the Month nominees for March are announced.
Having scored 20 goals between them for the month, the five nominees were selected by an awards committee made up of former Socceroos and leading figures in the Australian football media, with the winner to be determined by a vote of the PFA’s A-League members.
Including rounds 22 to 25, the five nominees for March are as follows:
- Bruno Fornaroli, Melbourne City;
- Jamie Maclaren, Brisbane Roar;
- Andy Keogh, Perth Glory;
- Diego Castro, Perth Glory; and
- Stefan Mauk, Adelaide United.
Mauk, one of the stars of Adelaide United’s surge towards the A-League summit, Mauk scored twice and has excelled in the Reds’ midfield since his switch from Melbourne City. This is the youngster’s second nomination as he was also nominated for the month of March.
PFA President Matt McKay said the nominees were a testament to the high quality attacking talent that calls the A-League home.
“Over the history of the competition we have been fortunate to have some truly outstanding attackers plying their trade here, and these nominees are up there with the very best,” said McKay.
“The ambition of everyone in Australian football is to have players of the highest possible standard playing in the A-League, and these five have lit up the competition and been a joy to watch.”
