With Adelaide United Memberships for the 2016/17 season now on sale, we’re highlighting some of the first Reds fans to sign up!
When did you start supporting Adelaide United?
I started supporting United in the 2006/07 season after growing up in Sydney in a rugby league home. I went to a couple of games out of curiosity, more than anything else, and just got hooked. Then I started taking along friends and family and ended up getting my mum hooked too.
What made you fall in love with the club and what made you become a member?
I fell in love with Adelaide United because the atmosphere at the games is unlike anything else. At other sports the crowd only get loud when the team scores, the Red Army on the other hand make sure the atmosphere is kept up regardless of the score.
How long have you been a member of the Club?
I have been a member for the last five seasons. But the only reason I wasn’t a member before that is because I used to get tickets through work.
What is your favourite memory from a Reds match?
My favourite memory aside from the Grand Final win was probably sitting above the Victory fans in our 4-2 win in the 2012/13 season. The 8-1 thumping of North Queensland Fury in the 2010/11 season was very memorable too.
If you could say anything to a United fan who is thinking of becoming a member, but hasn’t yet, what would you say?
To anyone who likes watching the Reds but isn’t yet a member I’d just tell them to bite the bullet and get one. You’ll never regret it and you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it sooner!
