Gertjan Verbeek suggests Adelaide United’s current problems stem from errors being made at both ends of the pitch.
The Reds slumped to four defeats in a row after losing 3-0 to Perth Glory at HBF Park on Saturday.
When asked to pin-point the reasons behind Adelaide’s recent struggles, Verbeek believed they have been irresolute defensively and not potent enough up front.
“The problems are that we are giving chances away too easy,” he told reporters in the post-match press conference.
“They do have the quality to use those chances and we don’t. We also had chances but we didn’t score.
“They were very effective just before the drinks break and just before half-time.

“We started well and had our possibilities, we had a lot of the ball. But I think they wanted that, that we have the ball.
“They want to try and play on the transition and they did it very well.”
United dropped to seventh in the Hyundai A-League standings following the setback and know their task does not get any easier.
The Reds host bitter rivals Melbourne Victory at Coopers Stadium on Friday night and need to find a way of snapping their frustrating streak.
Verbeek stopped short of confirming if changes would be made ahead of the Victory clash, but did imply he may have options with more players potentially at his disposal.
“First I have to see the video back from today and talk to some players,” he stated.
“Maybe (James) Troisi is back again, (Mirko) Boland makes his minutes in the Youth Team (on Sunday) and Kristian (Opseth) got more minutes again.”
