More room for improvement, says Veart

Carl Veart says the Reds have plenty of room for improvement despite a 4-2 win over Western United.

Adelaide United Head Coach, Carl Veart, says the Reds are happy to claim back-to-back wins for the first time this season, but highlighted the need for further improvement ahead of Melbourne Victory in Round 6 at Coopers Stadium.

Goals from Hiroshi Ibusuki, Craig Goodwin, George Blackwood, and Ben Halloran saw the Reds claim the points, but two second half goals somewhat dampened the overall performance.

Thoughts on the encounter:
“There’s always room for improvement.

“We’re very happy to get the three points, to come to Western, last year’s Champions and to get the three points, we’re very happy with that,

“But we’re not so happy with a second half; Western came out and attacked us.

“We sort of, maybe, switched off a little bit and we just couldn’t get our foot on the ball in the second half and have control, which made it more difficult for ourselves.

Victory at Coopers on Friday night:
“Yes, the Original (Rivalry).

“I played in the first two seasons (of the A-League) and they were great games.

“Both sets of supporters really look forward to these games, so it’s going to be a cracking game next Friday.”
