A Campbelltown City junior, Izzo’s talent was quickly noticed and joined the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in 2010 before returning to his hometown to sign with Adelaide United for the 2011/12 season. However, it was not until December 2012 when the then 17-year-old made his long-awaited debut for the Club – starting in consecutive matches against the Central Coast Mariners and Melbourne Victory. The young Socceroo would remain with the Reds for a further two seasons, serving as the back-up goalkeeper to legend and Captain Eugene Galekovic, while learning his craft. The Adelaide local left United in July 2015 in search of regular playing time and joined the Mariners for two years, but has now reunited with the South Australians to be the Club’s number one for at least the next three seasons. Still in his early 20s, the young gloveman has a bright future ahead of him in Red.
