Adelaide United is proud to announce the launch of the ‘United for Guide Dogs Campaign,’ as part of our upcoming A-League Men’s match against Melbourne City on Friday, 7 February 2025.

For this special match day, the iconic Guide Dogs SA/NT logo will proudly feature on the front of the Adelaide United kit, showcasing our shared commitment to promoting independence and inclusion for people living with low vision, blindness and other specialised support needs.

As part of this initiative, the A-League Men’s squad took part in an inspiring Human Guide Training session with Guide Dogs SA/NT last Wednesday at Coopers Stadium. The players gained first-hand experience of what it’s like to assist people to navigate the world with limited or no vision, and experienced being guided themselves, through a combination of theoretical learning and practical exercises. Guided by experts, players took turns being blindfolded and leading each other around the venue, showcasing the power of teamwork and the importance of accessibility for all.

Adelaide United Commercial Manager, Gianluca Girolamo, said:

“The ‘United for Guide Dogs Campaign’ is a celebration of teamwork and unity. At Adelaide United, we’re proud to partner with Guide Dogs SA/NT to support their incredible work in promoting independence and inclusion.

“This collaboration aligns with our values as a club and reinforces the importance of community connection,” Girolamo concluded.

Guide Dogs SA/NT has been one of Australia’s most trusted charities for over 65 years. Their expertise in dogs and vision has empowered countless individuals to reach their goals and live independent lives.

Speaking on the partnership, Guide Dogs SA/NT CEO, Aaron Chia said:

“This partnership with Adelaide United shines a spotlight on the challenges faced by people living with low vision and blindness, while celebrating the life-changing companionship of a Guide Dog match or support from teaming up with one of our clinicians for other services that promote independence.

Together, we’re sharing a message that promotes greater understanding and inclusion in our community,” Chia said.
