Adelaide United has drawn 2-2 with Melbourne Victory in Matchweek 15 of the Liberty A-League on Sunday evening.
Goals from Meisha Westland and Chelsie Dawber cancelled out the hosts’ opener, however a long-range effort beat Annalee Grove to see the points divided.
Adrian Stenta’s side was up against it almost from the outset, conceding a 6th minute goal.
But the Reds weren’t deterred and sparked into life, levelling through Westland 11 minutes later.
Dawber picked up the ball 25 yards out, composed herself, and swung a deep cross to the top of the box, which was met by Captain, Isabel Hodgson. Hodgson spun and flicked a deft ball across the face of the box to feed MelindaJ Barbieri, whose cut-back was met by Westland to finish into the back of the net.
With 27 minutes on the clock, Dawber put United in front when she poked-home from close range after Victory failed to clear their lines.
Grove was strong between the sticks for the Reds and did well to prevent Melbourne equalising for the remainder of the first half and into the second, however the custodian could do nothing about Victory’s equaliser as it rocketed into the top corner.
