Adelaide United defender, Alexandar Popović, was left relatively pleased with his side’s effort against Brisbane Roar on Friday evening.
The Reds saw George Blackwood’s opener cancelled-out late in the game following a converted Brisbane penalty past Joe Gauci.
Nevertheless, Popović, who was awarded Player of the Match from the match’s broadcast team, chose to focus on the positives post-game when speaking to Paramount+.
Assessing the performance:
“It’s a bit disappointing, but it was a solid performance from the lads, especially coming to Brisbane in some tough conditions.
“We put our heart out there and it’s just unlucky that we conceded in the last minute.
“We (came) here to win, but unfortunately we only got the draw tonight, but we’ll go again next week (against Wellington Phoenix).”
Battling Charlie Austin:
“I love coming up top strikers in the league because you learn so much from them and especially playing against someone (like Charlie Austin) who’s played in the Premier League against all the top dogs.
“It’s what you live for, basically.
“They help you improve, especially being a young kid.”
