Adelaide United FC will head to Uzbekistan to face Bunyodkor on the opening Match Day of AFC Champions League 2012.

The Reds will meet the team they beat in the semi finals of the 2008 AFC Champions League in Tashkent on Tuesday 6 March 2012 to kick-off its fourth AFC Champions League campaign.

This will be followed by a Match Day 2 blockbuster against 2008 ACL champions and J-League giants Gamba Osaka at Hindmarsh Stadium a fortnight later on March 20 in what will be a replay of the 2nd leg of the 2008 AFC Champions League Final.

Adelaide United-s next two matches will be away and home to the winner of the play-off between the Pohang Steelers or the Thai Knock-out Cup Champion, which will be decided on February 18 in Pohang.

The final two match days will then see the Reds tackle Bunyodkor at Hindmarsh before concluding its Group Stage fixtures in Osaka against Gamba on Wednesday, May 16.

At the completion of the Group Stage, the top two teams from each group will progress to the one-off knockout Round of 16 to be held on 29 or 30 May 2012.

The AFC Champions League Final will take place on either the 9th or 10th of November.

Football Federation Australia is currently working on a solution to accommodate each of the three Australian clubs participating in the AFC Champions League with the possibility of some rescheduling to existing Hyundai A-League fixtures that clash with the ACL match days and travel requirements.
