Reds agree Halloran transfer with FC Seoul

Adelaide United can officially confirm an agreement has been reached with K League 1 club, FC Seoul, over the transfer of Ben Halloran for an undisclosed fee.

Halloran joined the Reds in 2018 and scored 21 goals in 88 appearances across all competitions.

During his three-and-a-half seasons with Adelaide, the 29-year-old won back-to-back FFA Cups in 2018 and 2019, and was awarded the Aurelio Vidmar Medal for a stellar 2020/21 campaign.

Speaking on his decision to leave the Club, Halloran said: “I’ll always cherish my time at Adelaide United and I leave with a very heavy heart.

“The Club and the city mean a great deal to me and this was by no means an easy decision.

“It’s bittersweet to be leaving such a great bunch of boys, but I believe it is the right time in my career to take this opportunity.

“I want to wish Carl (Veart) and the team all the best for the remainder of the season and will be supporting from afar.

“Adelaide United will always be my Club and I hope to return one day.”

Adelaide United Head Coach, Carl Veart, said: “We know this decision was difficult for Ben to make because of how much he’s loved his time at Adelaide United.

“But opportunities like this don’t come around often and we weren’t going to stand in the way of Ben pushing himself and advancing his career.

“On the field, we will miss Ben for his quality and tenacity, however, and more importantly, we will miss a unique and genuine person who so often puts others before himself.

“On behalf of everyone at Adelaide United, I want to thank Ben for how he has conducted himself while being part of the Club and wish him the best as he embarks on an exciting new journey.”
