Reds agree transfer fee for Mohamed Toure and Yaya Dukuly with French club

Adelaide United can confirm the transfer of Mohamed Toure to a Ligue 1 French side for an undisclosed fee.
 
Toure was an instant revelation when he became the youngest goal-scorer in Isuzu UTE A-League history in February 2020 as a 15-year-old in just his second game for the Club.
 
In two-and-a-half seasons with the Reds, the forward scored seven goals in 42 appearances, while demonstrating his unquestionable potential.
 
Speaking on his departure from Adelaide United, Toure, said: “I’m extremely thankful for everything Adelaide has done for me in my time at the Club.
 
“They gave me the chance to represent my hometown team and, while developing and growing both as a person and footballer.
 
“My dream has always been to play in Europe, so I’m really looking forward to this next chapter in my career and embracing a new challenge in a tough league.”

Adelaide United Head Coach, Carl Veart, said: “Mohamed is one of the most talented young players that has played for the Club and was always destined for bigger opportunities.
 
“The French league is one of the top five leagues in Europe, but I’m confident with the right work ethic and desire, Mohamed can be successful.
 
“He was a pleasure to coach and nurture, and we wish him all the best in the next stage of his career overseas.”
 
Yaya Dukuly will also be joining the French club as part of the deal.
 
The 19-year-old netted two goals in 16 appearances across all competitions following his arrival ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.
 
Dukuly said: “I want to thank everyone at Adelaide United for the way they have treated me and helped me develop as a player, but also as a person.

“I have loved representing my hometown team and am proud to have been part of this amazing group of players.
 
“Making this step to play in Europe is exciting and I’m looking forward to continuing my development with a strong club in a strong league.”
 
Veart said: “Yaya is an intelligent and skilful footballer with a lot of potential.
 
“He has developed very well since joining Adelaide United and I wish him well in France and beyond.”
