Riley McGree says Adelaide United will be doing everything in their power to win another piece of silverware when they host Melbourne City in the FFA Cup 2019 Final at Coopers Stadium.
The Reds rallied to come from a goal down and defeat Central Coast Mariners 2-1 in Gosford on Wednesday, securing a third successive final appearance.
George Blackwood levelled proceedings to cancel out Jack Clisby’s 62nd minute opener, moments after Mariners skipper, Matt Simon was sent off for a second bookable offence.
From there the defending champions dominated and it took McGree’s 90th minute emphatic finish to seal the win.

However, McGree admitted he was not pleased about having earlier squandered two decent opportunities.
“I think personally I did have a few chances and I was a bit disappointed I didn’t bury them,” he told FOX Sports post game.
“But in the end I scored a goal and we got over the line, so good team performance.”
Adelaide is the first side to win the competition twice and reach four finals.
The 20-year-old explained the reason for the Club’s success suggesting it was mainly due to wanting to play as many competitive games as possible during the pre-season and of course the opportunity to clinch a trophy.
“We take this competition very seriously,” he insisted with Adelaide claiming the 2014 and 2018 iterations of the tournament.
“We have won it a few times and we take every game as it comes so we really want to work hard and win as many trophies as we can.”
