Adelaide United is excited to reveal its stunning new home jersey for the 2021/22 season.
Custom manufactured by the Club’s Global Technical Partner, UCAN, this incredible home kit is a fusion of tradition and modernity, producing a striking design aesthetic.
The 2021/22 version, developed with UCAN’s Utech Dry technology, returns to a conventional all red kit, contrasting last year’s generous use of navy across the shoulders.
Made from premium jacquard, the colours and patterns that decorate the fabric are designed and executed using computational technology. Soft against the skin, the shirts also utilise sweat wicking and have superior moisture absorption qualities.
The fresh design is complemented by a distinctive coral pattern on the sides which references one of South Australia’s native flora, the Swainsona formosa, commonly known as the Sturt’s desert pea.
A subtle pattern is also sublimated onto the jersey, while an even deeper red is utilised on the neckline and cuffs to accentuate the bold look along with coral accents in the inside of the neckline.
The piping shrike appears on the back, reminding fans Adelaide United is the team for all South Australians, in addition to the Club’s foundation year, 2003.
The inside of the neckline also displays the ‘More Than Football’ inscription – a mantra the Club truly lives by.
The look is complete with red shorts and red socks, with the outside of the shorts also employing the Sturt’s desert pea pattern in coral.
Adelaide United’s Head of Marketing and Communications, Marius Zanin, said: “We’re very excited to launch such a classic looking Adelaide United home shirt for the upcoming season.
“We believe this design balances perfectly between a reflection of the past and consideration of the future while paying homage to the State of South Australia.
“UCAN’s ability to effectively manufacture any kit we conceptualise sets us apart from other clubs in the league and, despite such a classic looking design, this is personified by the Swainsona Formosa lining the sides of the shirts.
“Our inaugural season aligned with UCAN was such a positive introduction to their kit customisation and that’s been reaffirmed this year.”
UCAN’s Global General Manager, Ally Zhao, added: “Once again working with the Adelaide United marketing and design team was an extremely collaborative and creative process.

For the third successive season, the Club’s Premier Partner, Flinders University, will appear on the front of the A-League home shirt, while SA Power Networks will be visible on the W-League kit for a ninth straight year.
Platinum Partner, Starfish Developments, will continue to appear on the back of shirt for A-League matches and the famous McDonald’s logo will again be located on the right sleeve for both competitions.
