Adelaide United has emerged victorious with a 1-0 win over Melbourne Victory in a tightly contested preseason match in Melbourne.

The only goal of the game was scored by Ryan Kitto in the 37th minute.

Both teams showed glimpses of potential in what turned out to be an intriguing encounter.

The breakthrough moment arrived in the 37th minute when Ryan Kitto produced a moment of pure brilliance, scoring from outside the box into the top corner with a sensational strike.

Adelaide United made five changes during the match to assess their squad’s depth.

One substitutions was made at half-time, Nick Ansell was replaced by Ben Warland.

An additional four changes were introduced in the 65th minute, Luke Duzel, Alexandar Popović, Giuseppe Bovalina and Hiroshi Ibusuki being replaced by Ryan Tunnicliffe, Lachlan Barr, Javi López and Panashe Madanha.

Melbourne Victory continued to push forward in search of an equaliser, creating promising attacks but were met with resolute defending from Adelaide’s backline.
