Adelaide United midfielder Juande says Adelaide United deserved its 2-1 win against Perth Glory on Sunday at HBF Park.
The Spanish midfielder was instrumental in the centre of the pitch alongside Isaías as goals from Hiroshi Ibusuki and Mohamed Toure sealed the Reds’ sixth win of the campaign.
Juande felt Adelaide executed a solid game plan and were worthy of the three points.
“We did a good game, the game we had to do,” he said after being named the Isuzu UTE Player of the Match.
“I’m so happy to bring the three points home.”
With Michael Jakobsen and Isaías returning from respective injuries, the 35-year-old claimed the team is building in the right direction.
Adelaide lie in third place on the table with 24 points.
“Now we recovered a couple of players, and start to play more time together – the important players – I think it’s a good moment for us to start growing slowly, slowly and I think we’re in a good position.”
The former Real Betis player also admitted that any team can beat each other on their day given the relative parity across the competition.
He praised Adelaide’s mindset going into the game with Perth.
“I think the season every team can beat every team,” he continued.
“So we have this mentality, this winning mentality, so we come here to win and in the end we deserved to win.”
