Reds Farewell Three Defenders From A-league Men’s Side

Adelaide United can officially announce the departure of three defenders from its Isuzu UTE A-League team.

The Club can confirm that Nick Ansell, Lachlan Barr, and Harry van Der Saag will be leaving the Reds.

Nick Ansell, who was signed from Melbourne Victory in 2021, made 29 appearances, scoring once, in the opening match of the 2023/24 campaign against Central Coast Mariners.

Promoted from the local RAA NPL league in 2021, Lachlan Barr departs having played 39 times for the Club, scoring three times.

Harry van Der Saag joined us in 2022 from Sydney FC. Overcoming a lengthy layoff with injury, Harry played 19 times for United, scoring twice, including his penultimate game in a Reds shirt against Brisbane Roar in Round 26.

Adelaide United Coach, Carl Veart, pays tribute to the departing group.
