Veronica Latsko scored a brace as Adelaide United recovered to record a 2-2 draw with Perth Glory at Marden Sports Complex on Thursday night.

The American continued her impressive form, scoring either side of Sam Kerr’s double in the stifling heat.

Ivan Karlović named an unchanged starting eleven for the third straight match with the Reds looking to build continuity within the squad.

It was the visitors who threatened early when Kerr played an exquisite pass for Rachel Hill to get on the end of.

However, the American’s shot was hit right at Sarah Willacy and confidently repelled her one-on-one effort.

Adelaide, however grew in more confidence and nearly broke the deadlock on 10 minutes when Latsko’s cross culminated in finding Gunnhildur Jónsdóttir, who quickly adjusted and saw her curling shot saved by Eliza Campbell.

Kerr continued to cause Adelaide’s defence issues with her lively movement and ability to evade her opponents.

But it was Adelaide who took the lead when Latsko netted her third goal of the season.

The 22-year-old latched on to Amber Brooks long ball and calmly finished beyond an onrushing Campbell.

But as the Reds seemingly appeared in control, Kerr turned the match on its head with a clinical double before the interval.

In the 40th minute, Kerr headed home Alyssa Mautz’s back-post cross from close range and then in first-half stoppage time delivered the sucker punch.

Hill executed a diagonal switch which went over the heads of Emma Checker and Emily Hodgson with Kerr controlling and cutting inside from the left to beat Willacy.

The second-half saw the Reds push for an equaliser before the Glory were reduced to 10 players when Mautz received two booking in the space of six minutes.

Jónsdóttir was denied by the crossbar minutes later when a cross ricocheted off her knee.

Although, United did finally make its numerical advantage count when Latsko equalised with a simple tap-in again with Brooks involved.

Laura Johns’ in-swinging corner was met by Brooks with her header striking the post and falling to her compatriot in Latsko.

Adelaide applied the pressure to find a winner but they had to settle for a draw as the Reds remain undefeated from five matches.
