Adelaide United Head Coach, Guillermo Amor, has finalised his squad for the Reds upcoming AFC Champions League campaign, starting with a play-off match against Shandong Luneng Taishan on Tuesday, 9 February.
Amor named his 23-man AFC Champions League (ACL) squad on Tuesday night, honestly saying the decision was not made easily.
“We have selected what we think to be the best squad for our Champions League campaign,” Amor said. “But it was very difficult to make this decision and has taken some time.
“When you have a squad that is as strong as ours, these types of decisions are not easy.
“We have gone with this team because we believe it will give us the most options and it will help us adapt to any situation that we face during the season.”
United’s squad includes three foreign players, Isaías, Sergio Cirio, and Marcelo Carrusca, with Sergio van Dijk selected as the Club’s Asian player.
Football clubs participating in the 2016 ACL are required to submit their final squad seven days prior to their opening match of the competition, which for the Reds is against Chinese Super League club, Shandong Luneng Taishan, on Tuesday, 9 February at Hindmarsh Stadium.
