After both Tarek Elrich and Eugene Galekovic were finished with their Socceroo duties, Tarek spent a few extra days in Dubai with a few of his teammates and then flew back home to Sydney. Eugene spent the rest of his holidays on the warm beaches of Bali.
All our Spainards – Sergio Cirio, Pablo Sanchez and Isiais – flew back to Spain to spend time with their families.
Our playmaker, Marcelo Carrusca, also flew back home to his family in Argentina. He made visits back to his old club and is currently supporting the Albiceleste’s quest to win the 2015 Copa America.
Awer Mabil and Osama Malik made the long journey to the Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya to deliver hundreds of pairs of football boots and sports gear to children as part of the Barefoot to Boots foundation.
Michael Marrone chose to soak in the Italian sun while just across the northern border Jimmy Jeggo spent his time in France.
Defender come golfer, Dylan McGowan, spent his time visiting his brother Ryan in the supposedly “warmer weather” of Scotland.
Locally, Bruce Djite spent most of his time in Adelaide however made a short trip to Sydney to see his brother graduate.
Craig Goodwin made a brief trip up to the Gold Coast with some of his mates and Jordan Elsey also made a week-long trip to Bali.
Both reserve keepers, Paul Izzo and John Hall, just spent their time at home here in Adelaide and all three youngesters – Dylan Smith, Ben Warland and Mark Ochieng – didn’t have a break as they all continued playing with our NPL squad.
