The Australian Professional Leagues has released the initial fixtures for both the A-League and W-League 2021/22 seasons.

The first six rounds of the A-League have been revealed with the season beginning on Friday, 19 November while the opening four matches of the W-League have been decided with a start date of Friday, 3 December confirmed.

Adelaide United’s A-League campaign kicks-off away to Perth Glory on Saturday, 20 November, before hosting Melbourne City at Coopers Stadium a week later in what is expected to be another Saturday night cracker.

Our Women’s side begins its journey on Sunday, 5 December at AAMI Park against fierce rivals Melbourne Victory Women.

A Saturday night A-League blockbuster the following weekend awaits Carl Veart’s men when the latest instalment of the Original Rivalry returns to Coopers Stadium. Meanwhile, Adrian Stenta’s team will play a standalone home clash against Canberra United at Marden Sports Complex the following evening.

Christmas comes early for Reds fans with our first double header of the season occurring on Thursday, 23 December against Perth Glory at Coopers Stadium. The W-League clash will precede the A-League game in what will be a great celebration of the Club’s two teams playing back-to-back at the same venue.

All matches will be available on streaming service Paramount+, while select matches will appear on Network 10.

Adelaide United A-League striker, Kusini Yengi, said: “We’re really looking forward to the start of the A-League season.

“We now have a definitive date to work towards, which is great because pre-season can be a pretty repetitive and we just want to play regular games.

“There’s rarely an easy game in the A-League and we’ve got some tough games to start the season, but we’re already confident we can start well and build the base for a strong campaign.”

Adelaide United W-League defender, Matilda McNamara, said: “Whenever the fixtures are revealed it’s always an exciting time for us as players.

“We enjoyed our best season to date last year and we’re aiming to build on that with our talented group.

“It’s also really exciting to see we will be playing at Coopers Stadium again in a double header just before Christmas and hopefully, as more fixtures are released, we will be back there more often.”
