Reds launch the ‘The Pitch Podcast’

The Pitch Podcast is coming soon to online platforms ahead of the 2021/22 season.

Originally introduced as a video segment in 2013, The Pitch, will see Jarrod Walsh return as host where he will interview current Reds players from our Men’s and Women’s teams throughout the campaign.

The insightful chats range from their careers as footballers to hobbies and interests, in an in-depth discussion as we get to know our favourite heroes away from the pitch on a more personal level.

Fans will also have the opportunity to submit questions ahead of each episode via social media.

Speaking on the decision to relaunch The Pitch as a podcast, Jarrod Walsh claimed its rebirth had been long overdue and was thrilled the concept is returning in an updated version.

“I’ve been campaigning for a return of The Pitch for years, but I have a feeling the club didn’t want me to stalk the players as much as I have been doing,” Walsh said.

“The time off has allowed me to reflect, sort out the restraining orders and lose more hair.

“We are so fortunate to have brilliant people that make up Adelaide United, and The Pitch puts a spotlight on the people behind the athlete.

“To give our Adelaide United family an insight into the lives of those players we support each week is something I am very grateful for and I can’t wait to get back into it!”

Episodes will be available as a single feed or via Reds Radio, wherever you download podcasts, while some segments of the show will be filmed and appear across our social media platforms and YouTube channel.
