Reds’ MIC teams drawn tough opposition

Adelaide United’s two Mediterranean International Cup (MIC) teams have learned their opposition overnight, with the competition’s official draw for the Group Stage taking place.

With both of Adelaide United’s teams to be playing in the competition’s B Class (U16s), they are set to face strong opposition with a number of renowned football clubs also competing in the category. 

United’s first squad has been drawn in Group A where it will face Spain’s, RCD Espanyol and CEF SP Vidrerenca, and USA’s, Rush USA. Meanwhile, the Club’s second squad has been drawn in Group O and will play Israel’s Maccabi Haifa Nahalal, and another two Spanish clubs, CE L’Hospitalet and Unio Esportiva Quart. 

The Reds will be sending a total of 38 players to the tournament, which will take place between 22 March and 27 March. 

United already has vague ties with two of the clubs it will face, with current First Team players, Sergio Cirio and Isaías, playing for CE L’Hospitalet and RCD Espanyol respectively, prior to joining Adelaide.
