Adelaide United FC will kick-off the Hyundai A-League 2010/11 finals series against the Wellington Phoenix on Friday night (18 February 2011) at Hindmarsh Stadium.
Football Federation Australia released the fixtures late this afternoon after the top six positions on the table had been confirmed ahead of the business end of the Hyundai A-League season.
The Reds- third placed finish means they will go up against the sixth placed Phoenix, who guaranteed their spot with a 3-1 defeat of North Queensland Fury earlier today, in a one-off elimination final. The winner will then progress to the second week of the finals and take on the winner of the other elimination final between Gold Coast United and Melbourne Victory.
It will be the second time in three weeks that the Reds and Phoenix have met at Hindmarsh Stadium, after Wellington scored a 1-0 win over United back on February 5.
If the Reds get past the Phoenix, they will also host the elimination final in Week 2 of the finals series.
The other games in Week 1 of the finals will see Premiers Brisbane Roar take on the second placed Central Coast Mariners at Bluetongue Stadium on Saturday in the 1st leg of the major semi final, followed by Gold Coast United (4th) going up against Melbourne Victory (5th) at Skilled Park on Sunday in the other elimination final.
Tickets for the Reds- encounter against Wellington will go on sale to Adelaide United 2010/11 members at 9.00am (ACDT) tomorrow (Monday 14 February) until 9pm, before members of the Football Family will have the opportunity to purchase tickets from 9.00am on Tuesday 16 February.
