Reds re-sign Nathan Konstandopoulos on one-year deal

Adelaide United midfielder Nathan Konstandopoulos has committed to the Club for the upcoming 2022/23 season after signing a new one-year contract.

The 26-year-old enters his seventh campaign with the Reds where he has scored seven goals in 74 matches across two separate spells.

The central midfielder, who has won two Australia Cups, made five appearances in the backend of last season, after successfully returning from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.

Speaking on his decision to re-sign with his hometown team, Konstandopoulos said: “I am delighted to resign with Adelaide United, it is my boyhood and hometown club and I am honoured to be here for another year.

“I am looking forward to having a solid pre-season and making a big impact this season.

“I’m determined to work my hardest for the team, and have the opportunity to show what I know I am capable of.

“As a team we want success this season and I am excited about what we can achieve.

“We know that we need to work hard as a collective to achieve this and from day one of pre-season our focus will be on setting the foundation for a memorable year.”

Adelaide United Head Coach, Carl Veart, said: “Nathan has been a tremendous Adelaide United servant as a proud South Australian, but also a dedicated and hardworking professional.

“His presence in the squad certainly bolsters our midfield depth and he is a great character to have in the dressing room.

“I’m confident Nathan can experience a strong season this year, as his exemplary work ethic continuously improves his game.”
