Adelaide United today unveiled its new home kit for the FFA Cup 2018 campaign, which will be worn for the first time against Central Coast Mariners next Wednesday.
The home kit, designed and manufactured by the Club’s Official On-field Partner, Macron, draws inspiration from the inaugural Reds jersey worn in 2003 with navy shorts. The likes of Aurelio Vidmar, Richie Alagich, and Goran Lozanovski were some of the famous names to don the similar-looking jersey during the 2003/04 National Soccer League season.
It is a simple and innovative design that honours the Club’s establishment, yet equally aligns United with its valued supporters as the Club looks to the future.
The home shirt incorporates two-tone red horizontal stripes and the Club’s badge embroidered on the left chest with the rebranded FFA Cup logo featuring on the opposite side.

A white and red V-neck as well as mesh inserts on either side of the torso complement the slim fit jersey, made from softlock 100 per cent polyester to ensure supreme comfort and breathability for players to perform at their optimum. The navy shorts also feature red trimming around the bottom of the shorts and two vertical red stripes either side of the Macron insignia, with all-red socks completing the iconic ensemble.
Meanwhile, the away strip is a two-tone, white and grey slim fit with a unique black outline covering both sides of the torso. Mesh inserts also feature on either side of the jersey for comfortability, which, like the home kit, is made of softlock 100 per cent polyester. The V-neck design also matches the home jersey, but with black trimming. The white away shorts mirror the home shorts’ design with two vertical grey stripes as well as grey trimming at the bottom. All-white socks finish off the sleek clash strip.
United’s goalkeepers will embrace fluorescent kits for the first time in this season’s FFA Cup. The first kit is a fluorescent green, accented with black trimming under the arms and around the front of the neck lining, whilst the second shirt is a fluorescent yellow, and third being a black and grey combination with fluorescent green highlights. All three goalkeeper kits incorporate a distinctive diagonal stripe across the body.
Adelaide United host Central Coast Mariners in the FFA Cup 2018 Round of 32 on Wednesday, 1 August at Marden Sports Complex. Kick-off is at 7.00 PM ACST.
