Adelaide United will begin its FFA Cup 2021 title defence away to Perth-based outfit Floreat Athena in the Round of the 32 following tonight’s draw.
It will be the first meeting between the two sides in the cup competition and United’s first encounter against a Western Australian National Premier League side.
Athena currently sit four points clear at the top of the National Premier League Western Australia ladder.
The Reds, who are three-time winners, have won the last two iterations of the national tournament in 2018 and 2019 with no competition held last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
No team has won the cup more than once while Adelaide has built a reputation as the cup specialists, having reached four finals and lifting the aforementioned trophy on three occasions.
Match details will be confirmed at a later date.
