Adelaide United is excited to announce the signing of goalkeeper, James Delianov, on a two-year deal.
The 21-year-old spent three years with Melbourne City before making the switch to crosstown rivals Western United at the beginning of last season.
Delianov played more than 40 matches with City’s youth team and made his senior debut on the final day of the 2018/19 regular season, registering a clean sheet in the process.
Standing at 188cm tall, the gloveman has also represented Australia’s U17 and U19 sides.
Following his decision to join Adelaide, Delianov said: “I’m really excited to join Adelaide United.
“This is a great club, one with a lot of history and success in the A-League, and its ambitions match my own.
“I’ve come to Adelaide to further my game and develop my football under Carl (Veart), but also under Eugene (Galekovic).
“I want to play as many minutes as possible and I think with Eugene guiding me, and our other ‘keepers, the team will be in safe hands over the next few seasons.
“I know a few of the players in the team already and I’ve heard how good the group of boys are, so I can’t wait to get amongst the group and get started.”
Adelaide United Director of Football, Bruce Djite, said: “We’re very happy to have brought James, another talented, young goalkeeper, to the Club.
“James is a good character who will fit-in seamlessly with the group and has an abundance of potential.
“In close consultation with Eugene, we’ve brought James into the fold to compete with our other boys for that number one spot.
“Strong competition breeds development and we now have a number of the best young goalkeepers in the country vying for the number one spot in our squad.
