Adelaide United is delighted to announce the signing of English attacking midfielder, Zach Clough, until the end of the Isuzu UTE A-League 2021/22 season.
The 26-year-old, who can also operate effectively as a second striker, arrives having spent his entire career in his homeland across the Championship, League One, and League Two.
Clough made his professional debut for Bolton Wanderers in 2015 and went on to score 22 goals in 68 matches over the next two years during his first stint with the club.
After leaving Bolton he signed for Nottingham Forrest before returning to the Wanderers and has since plied his trade with Rochdale, Wigan Athletic and most recently Carlisle United.
Speaking on agreeing to join Adelaide United, Clough said: “I’m really excited about the opportunity to play in Australia.
“I’ve heard great things about the A-League and I’m really looking forward to meeting my new teammates and getting to work.
“I’m a creative midfielder that loves to get forward and score goals and provide assists which will hopefully help contribute to team success.”
Adelaide United Head Coach, Carl Veart, said: “We’re thrilled to have been able to add another quality player to our squad.
“Zach has great pedigree, playing at a strong level in England, and his signature gives us another attacking option.”
