Adelaide United will wrap up its NT Tour when they take on Melbourne City in Darwin on Saturday night.

The Reds, who are in partnership with the NT Government and FFNT, and along with City, are set to bring the Northern Territory its second glimpse of top-flight football in recent weeks after the Westfield FFA Cup tie between Darwin Olympic and the Reds earlier this month.

Adelaide United comes to Darwin for their last fixture of their NT Tour after defeating the Alice Springs All Stars 11-0 on Wednesday night at Traeger Park.

The match will be Adelaide United’s final competitive fixture ahead of their Westfield FFA Cup Round of 16 clash against Sydney FC next Wednesday, a rematch of last years Westfield FFA Cup quarterfinal.

Club Captain Eugene Galekovic explained that the team was not only looking for improvement and team cohesion in the clash, but also a victory.

“We have been here for a few years now and every time we come and it’s good weather and it good preparation for our season,” said Galekovic.

“Even though it’s an exhibition game, we will take it seriously and we want to improve as much as we can before the season starts.

“It’s great playing in these conditions, and hopefully the crowd comes out and we put on a good show.”

Head Coach Guillermo Amor said his players were ready for the challenge and praised the Darwin hospitality.

“It doesn’t matter who the opposition are, all the games give you some conclusions that will help us improve,” said Amor.

“We were here two weeks ago and it was a very good field, and the treatment we received was amazing.

“Every time we come here, Darwin has been good to us.”

Kick off is at 7pm (local) at the Darwin Football Stadium with a curtain raiser involving two Darwin based teams set to highlight the local talent.

Tickets are available from the Darwin Entertainment Centre or at the gate.
